Bilcrow Pvt Ltd assists its clients in developing robust and efficient plant maintenance strategies and the complimentary execution plan. Maintenance strategies that we have implemented in the past focused Engineering attention on the following.
1. Alignment of plant maintenance requirements with optimal production run requirements. We help clients find a way of enabling the machine part that has the shortest life cycle to last a desired maintenance free production run, be it a week, month , six months or a year. The minimum production run may be determined by the need to clean, adjust for product change, stock taking etc
2. Designing of maintenance programmes for quick execution and guaranteed plant restart. We establish an optimum blend of condition based, usage based, breakdown, preventive, and planned maintenance principles. We identify for mid-year execution, those maintenance significant specialised tasks that face the risk of non completion when carried out as part of year end shutdown maintenance which coincides with unavailability of back-up service suppliers.
3. Identification of life of plant components and prescribing the best maintenance approach for these components which must last the life of the plant or machine. These are normally components which can only be harmed by extreme negligence, accident, deliberate sabotage or unchecked harmful environmental conditions.
4. We identify and implement strategies that create perpetual machines. This encompasses all strategies aimed at ensuring that life of machine parts extends well beyond client expectations. This is achieved through elimination of the adverse environment (dust, moisture, heat), adverse operating conditions (load, vibration, start up shocks), design limitations (material selection, self cleaning systems, mechanical or electrical protection), adverse operation (process control, material process balance, batch sizing)
5. We identify process machinery and components whose failure has a severe and negative impact on quality of product produced or speed of operation. We select these as primary targets for perpetual machine strategies. We help the client work through component or machine life cycle as a way of planning stock holding requirements or initiation of design modification.
6. We provide Engineering Management training conferences for workshop personnel.
